Potted Petals is a unique gift shop located at 732 South Main Street in Lombard. We carry a large variety of gift items that are ever changing, especially for the seasons. It’s owner, Kathleen Roberts, has been in the horticulture industry for 30 years. Kathleen is both a floral designer as well as a landscape designer. She earned her bachelors degree in Floriculture/Ornamental Horticulture from Texas A&M University. At Potted Petals you will find unusual gifts, live plants, container gardens, personalized gift baskets and some vintage items. Potted Petals specializes in custom work. (We won Lombard’s 2008 custom service award, and 2009 Business Pride award!) From one-of-a-kind silk floral arrangements for any occasion, with silk weddings being our specialty, to professional landscape designs and garden consultations. We will plant your window boxes and containers if you don’t have the time, as well as, help you with holiday decorating. How long have you been in business?
I have been in the horticulture industry for 35 years. Meaning I have managed several floral shops, nurseries and garden centers around the country. As well has doing freelance weddings and landscape designs. My shop in Lombard has been open for 10 years.

How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have always loved plants. Even as a small child with houseplants in my room. I have a B.S. degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Texas A&M University. I could not decide what I liked doing best, floral design or landscape design. So I opened the shop so that I could do it all plus so much more.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I search out very unique items that you can't find anywhere else. I keep my price points low and we have terrific customer service. We've even won awards for it.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
1 location. That is all I plan for now.

We are located in Lombard, at 732 South Main Street, in the bright pink building at the corner of Main and Harrison. We are 3 blocks north of Glenbard High school on the west side of the street.

Which areas do you service?
Mostly western DuPage county. Lombard, Villa Park, Oak Brook Terrace, Oak Brook, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, Downers Grove and Hinsdale. I do have accounts in Big Rock and Naperville as well so I am very flexible.
