How long have you been in business?
St. Procopius Abbey was founded in 1885.
What is your primary product or service?
The Liturgy of the Hours is prayed publically in the Abbey Church (Lauds and Vespers) daily. Mass, open to the public, is also available daily. Check the Abbey web site for times or call the Abbey Switchboard during business hours (8:00 AM - 9:00 PM).
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Numbering forty men, we strive to come closer to God through our prayer and our service to the Church, especially in our educational apostolates at Benet Academy (a college-preparatory high school) and Benedictine University.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
St. Procopius Abbey is a Benedictine monastic community in the Roman Catholic tradition.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Taking the vow of stability, particular to Benedictines, the community's not planning to move.
Provide detailed directions to your location
St. Procopius Abbey, on the corner of Maple Avenue and College Rd. (Yackley Ave.) in Lisle, is equidistant from O'Hare International and Midway Airports. The Burlington-Northern (of the Metra Commuter railroad line) westbound from Chicago's Union Station arrives regularly at the Lisle train station, about 2 miles from the Abbey.
Guests arriving by air at either O’Hare or Midway are asked to contact American Taxi after arriving for conveyance to the Abbey. Giving them the Abbey’s address (see below), they will drop you off in our circle drive. A link to American Taxi is given here for your convenience.

The Abbey Switchboard is open daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Guests are asked to call the Abbey Guestmaster or refer to our web site for further Guest House information.
